On our farm located in the Trent Valley just outside Gainsborough,
Lincolnshire, Linda, with occasional help from daughter Louise and husband Ted (who likes mowing grass) grows flowers, foliage and herbs.
Summer favourites include sweet peas, ammi, scabious, cornflowers and anything unusual. The flower known as the “shoo-fly plant” with its pale blue flowers and lovely seed head was very popular last year. Our favourites change frequently as each new variety makes an appearance. Who would have thought that old eighties dried flower vase favourite, the helichrysum (strawflower) would be making such a comeback – we love that one too.
We sell at farmer’s markets in Gainsborough and other fairs and events between March and October. Our flowers are also available to purchase from the Rubies Attic tearoom in Blyton at weekends during the season. Occasional open days on the farm are held and details of all events are on our Facebook page.
We deliver flowers and bouquets to Gainsborough, Scunthorpe and surrounding villages for any event and our flower filled buckets are ideal for DIY brides, parties, florists, floral designers and flower arrangers. Increasingly we are undertaking weddings and are happy to work with brides to supply their requirement from filled buckets to arrange themselves to the full wedding – or any combination in between.
We also supply sympathy flowers and floral tributes using willow or vine frames to deliver a wire and cellophane free natural product particularly suitable for green burial sites.
