A Practical Workshop for Budding Flower Farmers
July 10 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Spalding, Lincolnshire PE12 0DG United Kingdom

Join Barbara Lohoar (Ashwell Flower Farm) and Fiona Paxton (Pulvertoft Flower Farm) who invite you to a practical hands-on workshop learning how to plan and set up your flower farm, cutting garden or allotment growing spaces.
After introductions the session will start with a tour of the flower farm to look at how the infrastructure has been created.
We will then work together to create a trial “no dig” bed from scratch, considering all the variables, layering from the soil upwards, growing through fabric, staking, netting, irrigation and frost protection. We’ll compare how two different flower farmers have approached their bed making and the results they achieved.
We will then lunch together, a good opportunity to meet other growers and swap ideas about each other’s plots
The afternoon session will look at the year planting plans and sowing times. We will finish off the day sowing some seeds that you can take away with you.
Cost: £75 including lunch
