Now in my third year, I am primarily a grower farming organically whenever possible (99%), loving the horticultural rigour and never ending learning processes of running a small flower farm (half an acre). My aim is to bring the joy of locally grown flowers to as many people as possible by growing the very best blooms I can. My best days are those during which I witness the pleasure my flowers and plants bring to others. I am particularly fond of growing dahlias since they provide a long lasting and reliable crop of blooms and I grow annuals, perennials and shrubs alongside to compliment the dahlias in mixed bunches. My main loves are annual phlox, delphiniums, achillea, cornflower, snapdragons, Chinese asters, sweetpeas, peonies, roses, scabious, foxgloves, agastache, monarda..... I sell locally in markets, to florists and floral designers and am happiest in my poly tunnel shuffling compost and seeds around. I also arrange flowers using environmentally friendly techniques for weddings, funerals, parties and sell flowers by the bucket for others to arrange themselves. I have a plant stall in my garden - always open and always jam packed full of those glorious plants I sadly have no room to plant!
