About My Business
I am a floral designer covering Cumbria and south-west Scotland, I’m a passionate gardener who loves cut flowers, interior plants, and an avid vintage knick knack hoarder. The Girl that Gardens is a low waste company so I do things a little differently up my end, I always have sustainability in my thoughts and this will never change! I am trying to make a change in a sometimes very wasteful industry, weddings often create a lot of rubbish that goes into landfill and I’m aiming to turn things around. I’m a qualified gardener and garden designer and have worked in many fields within the horticultural sector from assistant landscape architect to the assistant head gardener on a large estate. Later this year I will be gearing up for growing cut flowers from my own property so watch this space
My style of flower design is what I like to call “hedgerow romantic” giving a beautiful romantic feel to our arrangements. I also hire out a range of interior plants from small Spider plants and Cacti to tall Rubber plants and trees, pairing interior plants with British cut flowers is really a match made in heaven. As well as floral design and plant hire I also offer a selection of vintage bits and bobs including our rustic sweetie shop and my beloved radiogram.
Part of my ethos at the Girl that Gardens is to provide a quality service in all areas including our hire items; I use British and Fair Trade sweets along with our sustainable flowers and plants. We provide a service that is quality over quantity and always stick to my morals and views.
I love hearing clients ideas and throwing ideas around, dreaming up schemes and making them as sustainable as possible. I can’t wait to hear your ideas so don’t hesitate to get in touch!
