Learning by doing

Joining forces to build a show stand gives our members chance to tackle large scale floristry and to showcase both our talents and the wonderful scented, seasonal and sustainable flowers that our businesses grow.

Behind the scenes at BBC Gardeners’ World Live

In this short video, the West Midlands team show you how they tackle building a stand in the floral marquee on the final day of preparations. The last day of the build is everyone’s favourite as all the props for the stand are firmly in place and the fun of the floral decoration begins. See them build their vibrant party table display to celebrate 50 years of the BBC Gardeners’ World TV series.

Meetings

Our network helps flower farmers to meet like-minded growers who can offer support, encouragement and advice as well as friendship, a source of extra flowers and helping hands for large events. We try to meet quarterly throughout the year on a local level – anything from friendly catch-ups over a coffee (and of course cake, lots of cake…), structured workshops to help with marketing and business, or practical sessions on willow weaving, dividing dahlias or visits to specialist nurseries.

What our members say

A helpful community

“FFTF facilitated us and allowed us to trade in our first season.  FFTF is a community that we turn to again and again for advice, tips and inspiration. They never fail us.”

A place where friends are made

“I very much value the support from Flowers from the Farm members and the good friends that I have made. It gives me impetus to see what others are doing, and what is possible. I find it very encouraging.”

Frances Boscawen, Moat Farm Flowers.

Be part of something bigger

“Working alone in a field can be quite lonely. As a member of Flowers from the Farm, I’m part of a network of growers who are always at the end of the phone should you need a chat or some support. “
