I'm Nicki and I grow and sell flowers from my garden in very rural South somerset. The idea to grow flowers to sell mainly at the back gate came to me shortly after moving back to Somerset in 2021. A large part of the garden was fairly unkempt but clearly had potential. After a lot of work, I started to sell my homegrown flowers in 2023. Local people clearly liked my weekly bouquets and 2024 has been even better. More of the garden has now been utilised as flower beds and I'm now hoping to buy some land from my neighbour so I can expand further. The past few years have been a huge learning curve, especially with the unpredictable weather, but thanks to my lovely customers I now have a small business that is growing slowly and giving me pleasure every day. Currently I sell my flowers as bouquets, at my back gate every Saturday (and occasionally during the week) from April to September. I can also provide gift bouquets with a few days notice.
