Focussed on the environment

Conscious of the environmental impacts typically associated with flower farming, Blooming Green are chemical-free and operate using regenerative techniques such as no-dig. In nurturing the environment by means of focusing on soil health, providing habitat for wildlife and pollinators and growing seasonally, Blooming Green work in sync with nature and, in turn, they and nature reap the benefits and rewards. On the virtual tour below, they’ll show you their two acres of mixed annuals and perennials, an acre of roses (grown for their hips) and the remaining land planted up with foliage.

Meet Jen and Bek and enjoy a virtual tour of their flower field.

Driven by their ethos and adamant that eco-conscious cut-flower farming and floristry practices should be inspiring and inclusive, Blooming Green run a series of popular workshops and courses teaching sustainable, environmentally conscious floristry and growing practices. They also offer a ‘pick-your-own flowers’ service for the public to enjoy their plot – with coffee and cake, of course. They also supply foliage wholesale through New Covent Garden Market and directly to florists across the South East; in doing so, Bek and Jen endeavour to educate as many people as they can, simply with flowers.

One of the things Bek and Jen are most proud of is being able to share their journey with volunteers and visitors, of all backgrounds and ages; witnessing the joy and benefits working outdoors with nature can bring.

Being a member of Flowers from the Farm has provided Blooming Green’s team with an invaluable networking resource.  As a well-established flower-growing business, this network enables them to share their learnings: tips, tricks and advice – as well as pitfalls – with other growers. Likewise, if the wedding season becomes too busy, or there’s an inquiry Blooming Green cannot fulfil, they can confidently recommend other local flower-growing businesses to their customers.
