A guide to social media for BFW
We want to get as many people as possible to celebrate British flowers – and social media is a great tool to raise awareness and connect with other florists. Our plan is simple: if every Flowers from the Farm member and supporter of British Flowers Week posts about it, we will raise awareness in a major way.
That’s where you come in. On Monday 16 June, we’re encouraging everyone to post about their British flower. It might look like this:
@britishflowersweek launches today and to celebrate, here’s my favourite British flower.
[FLOWER NAME] is [charming appearance/sweet scent/seasonal bloom – customise this based on the flower]. Every time I see one, it makes me think of [personal note, memory or tradition].
Running from 16–22 June 2025, #BritishFlowersWeek unites florists, flower growers and flower lovers with an exciting programme of talks, tours, workshops and exhibitions.
Want to learn more about British flowers? Follow #BritishFlowersWeek which takes place from the 16–22 June 2025 via @british.flowers.week.
We have launched instagram.com/british.flowers.week as the main platform for the week, and we will also be active on instagram.com/flowersfromthefarm. Please tag these accounts and use the hashtag #BritishFlowersWeek as we’ll be reposting images shared with us throughout the event.
Other ideas for posts might include:
- Meet the grower: Share your story about who you are and what excites you about British flowers.
- Behind the scenes: People want to know about what the daily life of someone in the floristry industry is like. Consider showing your regular routine and career trajectory to date.
- Promote your event: Give people advanced warning about when your event is taking place, exactly what will be involved and how they can join.
