Christmas wreath inspiration
As November closes, social media comes alive with leafy round rings. Instagram is currently awash with Christmas wreath inspiration for you get creative with your own evergreens or to find inspiring door decor close to home! Fresh Christmas wreaths come in all shapes and sizes – from woven willow frames simply decorated with garlands of greens, to fully dressed mossed bases packed to the hilt with foliage, feathers and other finery.
If you fancy trying your hand at making your own, lots of our flower farmers will be happy to show you how at their festive workshops or to supply you with kits to make your own wreath at home. Visit our events calendar to find workshops near you.
Before choosing your wreath colours, it’s always worth considering how they’ll work with the colour of your door. You don’t have to have berries or dried oranges – pops of colour can be brought in through ribbon and natural, dried ingredients. You’re not limited to a choice of only traditional greens and reds. Take a look at these stunning alternative wreaths made by our members.
To ribbon, or not to ribbon? That is indeed the question! Sometimes it’s fabulous to let the foliage do the talking on its own. Sometimes it’s great to add a zap of colour with an unexpected vibrant shade, or to echo a rustic vibe with the addition of a hessian trim. Velvet always has a luxurious Christmassy feel and is very much in vogue at this time of year and it’s easy to see why.
